Privacy & Data Use Notice

Firehouse Ops stores operational fire department data such as user accounts, schedules, apparatus checks, issue reports, hydrant inspections, uploaded record metadata, GPS check-ins, shift tasks, and recent call logs.

Location data

Location data is intended to be collected only when a user chooses to perform a GPS check-in, capture hydrant coordinates, attach GPS data during an approved inspection or photo workflow, or uses a clearly disclosed active shift-location feature. Firehouse Ops is not intended to silently track users.

Medical information

Firehouse Ops operational logs are not intended for patient medical details, protected health information, or private patient narratives. Recent Calls is a lightweight operational log, not a patient-care reporting system.

Access and department separation

Access is role-based. Typical roles include Chief, Assistant Chief, Firefighter, and Read-Only users. Firehouse Ops uses department-scoped access controls so authenticated users operate within the department assigned to their account.

Department data exports

Authorized leadership users may export department records for operational continuity, administration, public-records workflows, grant documentation, or backup purposes. Exports are subject to the same signed-in department permissions as the application.

Uploaded files and photos

Where enabled, uploaded files and photos may be stored in cloud object storage and associated with operational records. A database export may include file metadata and references without automatically downloading the underlying file contents.

Data responsibility

Departments are responsible for deciding what operational records their members should enter, who should have access, and what records must be retained or disclosed under their applicable policies and law.
